James B. LaValle, R.Ph., CCN, is a clinical pharmacist, author, and board certified clinical nutritionist with more than 40 years experience in metabolic and integrative medicine. He is Chief Science Officer for Life Time and CEO of Metabolic Code Enterprises. LaValle serves as the academic and clinical co-chair for the American Academy of Anti Aging Medicine and the chair of the International Peptide Society, having trained thousands of health care professionals on the value of integrative health programs. He is a scientific advisor for Probiotics.com.

LaValle’s clientele spans from Olympians to everyday individuals struggling with a wide range of health and performance hurdles. Some of the organizations and athletes who have benefited from his expertise include the Chicago Blackhawks, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, and in 2019 he was appointed the Integrative Medicine Program Director for the NFL Hall of Fame Health and Performance Program. LaValle also educates and works with military special operations forces (SOF) to optimize resilience and metabolic reserve.

A dedicated educator, LaValle has taught for two decades as an appointed adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy, served as faculty at the College of Medicine at The University of California, and is currently an adjunct faculty for the Masters of Integrative Medicine program at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. LaValle has authored more than 20 books including, “Your Blood Never Lies” and his best seller, “Cracking the Metabolic Code.” He was named one of the “50 Most Influential Pharmacists” by American Druggist magazine and is a former nutrition correspondent on ESPN2’s No. 1 rated “BodyShaping” fitness program.
